Stockhill forestry Commission wood ia a short drive up into the Mendip Hills.

Stockhill is a predominantly coniferous woodland with areas of ancient beech woodland and is renowned for its nightjar and long-eared owl populations.

Walking here is on a mixture of forestry roads and woodland tracks.

Directions to Stockhill - Take the A39 from Wells towards Farrington Gurney, then take the B3135 towards Cheddar. Stockhill is approximately two miles down this road.

After your walk why not visit the village of Priddy, famous for it's sheep fair, folk festival and the Queen Victoria Pub where you will find excellent real ale and simple home cooked local food.
