The ewes have been up on the hill grazing for two months now and have made good inroads into the scrub but as the grazing has declined they began to wander. Cordelia and Dora (the explorer!) have found there way into Loader's Orchard through a hole in the fence and out onto the road. I have now brought the ewes down onto our inbye pasture as lambing is just around the corner.

In fact the first lamb was born early on Saturday 31st January. The lamb was small at 2.6 kilos and had to be warmed under the heat lamp to get it going. The ewe Delia is one of our best mothers and I am pleased to say they are both doing well.

The sheep seem not to feel the cold in their woolly jumpers the hens aren't sure what to make of it at all.
